Word takes forever to load one particular document.

After trying everything I could find on the internet the following worked for me:

  • Load the document..
  • Save to old Word 97-2003 format.
  • Close Word
  • Load document...
  • Save to new Word format.

Notes:

  1. Saving to an old format will probably result in lost formatting.
  2. On re-loading the document after saving to 'Word 97-2003' format Word informed me the document was dangerous.
